Dear spreadsheet lover,
Happy New Year! We look back on 2013 as the year in which the TU Delft Spreadsheet Lab officially started. On June 11th, the Kickoff meeting was held and in the mean time, our first PhD student Bas Jansen started his project. Next week, second PhD student Sohon Roy and our scientific programmer Fenia Aivaloglou will complete the team.
In 2013, we were present on many conferences to share our research results. The highlight was the keynote on the Strata Big Data conference in London. In addition to that we were present on the 8th Excel Experience Day, the BuildStuff conference and on the academic conferences on Software Engeneering and Software Maintenance.
The main research result of 2013 was our method to test spreadsheets. This method uses formulas that users create anyway, like IF(A1=0,”ERROR”) to test an entire spreadsheets. For this tool, we are still searching for test users, so if you are interested, let us know.
